Handing over a phone or laptop means trusting someone with your device and your data. A few checks separate professionals from guesswork.

Know who is coming

Choose a technician or service whose identity you can verify, with a real business behind them. A verified profile and a record of the job protect both sides.

Diagnosis before the estimate

A good technician diagnoses first and explains the fault in plain language before quoting. Be wary of a price given before anyone has looked at the device.

Get the estimate in writing

  • What exactly will be repaired or replaced
  • The parts to be used and their quality
  • The total cost, including any visit charge
  • Any warranty on the repair

Protect your data

Back up before a repair if you can. Share passwords only when needed for testing, and change them afterwards if you're concerned.

Keep a record

Ask for an invoice that lists the work and parts. If the problem comes back, it's your proof of what was done.
